Those Little Moments
I don’t know what they are.
Maybe they’re signs.
Maybe they’re coincidences.
I just know they seem to happen when we least expect them.
You open the dishwasher and there’s a shiny penny sitting inside. You stop for a second because that makes absolutely no sense.
A cardinal lands outside your window and stays there long enough for you to notice.
A butterfly appears during a walk and seems determined to follow you.
You’re driving home, turn on the radio, and the song playing is exactly the one you needed to hear.
Little things.
Things that most people would probably overlook.
Yet somehow, they make you stop.
They interrupt whatever was on your mind.
They pull you out of the rush of the day.
And suddenly you’re thinking about someone you love.
For a moment, you’re not focused on where you have to be next or everything you need to get done.
You’re thinking about them.
Remembering them.
Smiling about something you haven’t thought about in years.
Feeling connected to them in a way that’s hard to explain.
Maybe that’s why these moments mean so much.
Not because of what they are.
But because of what they remind us of.
That love doesn’t disappear.
It stays with us.
Showing up in unexpected moments when we need it most.
